Valkyrie - the Vampire Princess 5 Page 2

I ran to him and knelt down, holding his shoulder gently. Then I asked him, "Are you okay?"

He stared at me completely serious. As if I were guilty of his fall. "With the exception of my irritation, yeah, I am okay."

He got up and I did the same.

  Then we walked on.

A wall broke up before us and pulled us inside it.

Soon after, we were walking into another corridor of the cave. This one was composed of transparent ice.

Through that ice, we could see our own reflection as vampires. I stopped walking and as I looked at it I was impressed. I smiled slightly at being able to see my own image.

"This place is fabulous!" I exclaimed feeling very happy.

But Eros stood behind me and held my right hand.

"Please, do not touch this wall of ice. I do not want myself to be surprised by another sexual harassment."

Lyon laughed at Eros’ comment and I turned to face Eros and smiled too.

"Even the walls desire you,” I commented. Eros flushed at my comment, then he looked away after that.

Lyon scratched his head and then he said, "We have to leave now. This cave allows us to stay inside it for just a few moments."

  He looked at us seriously.

"Otherwise we'll be locked inside it forever."

Eros let my hand go. I looked back at the ice wall and saw my image again. I was saying goodbye to it. It was as if I would not see my own image again.

So the three of us left the cave soon after and went back to my father’s castle. Following the same path, we walked back together.

Really it was a secret and an extraordinary place.

Lyon had shown me something mysterious which even my father didn't know about.

Unlike me, Eros did not seem pleased with our walk. He was feeling pain in his back, due to his collision with the wall of the cave.

But apart from that, I thought everything was okay with him.

  Chapter 3

Eros started to investigate vampire Lyon outside the castle. Each time the vampire Lyon went to the city of the pre-vampires or when Lyon was walking the surroundings of the castle, Eros would study him.

Eros always found a way to follow him without being noticed by his clone.

Every time that vampire Lyon looked back or stopped walking, Eros hid himself behind the dry trees or the walls of the castle, trying not to be noticed by his double.

Eros returned to the secret place that afternoon. However, he didn't find the secret cave. Simply, this cave did not exist.

He looked around and saw only the woods of dead trees.

I met Eros in the woods and he made me promise him that I would keep myself away from vampire Lyon. He held my wrists tightly, begging me and I gave him my word that I would stay away from vampire Lyon. Even that didn't satisfy him at that time.

"Valkyrie, listen to me carefully. I returned to the secret place this afternoon and that cave does not exist," he confessed to me.

"How?" I was surprised at his statement.

"There is no secret place. There is no cave with ice walls either.”

He shook his head, looking perplexed by it all.

"Everything was some sort of magic practiced by Lyon."

He grabbed my wrists and stared into my eyes.

"And that shows that he is as dangerous as a legion of vampires against mankind."

I looked to one side, quite stunned at Eros' words.

  "Eros, you're scaring me!"

His hands squeezed my wrists, while his anger ran through his veins.

He pulled me to him and looked into my gray eyes.

"Valkyrie, if you love your little body stay away from vampire Lyon. He is able to do terrible things to someone and that includes you!"

Vampire Lyon was looking at me all the time, as we both had dinner in silence in the spacious dining room of the castle. My father’s seat was empty because he was still asleep and the vampire Eros did not reside in the castle any more as he should.

I could barely finish my meal. While I thought I was alone in the company of a vampire, I had sworn to Eros that I would keep myself away from him.

In fact, in recent days he was making me scared.

Although I was actually the princess of vampires, I felt there was a force much stronger than me beside the vampire Lyon.

I threw my dark napkin on the table and got up from my seat. I held the hem of my dark dress and walked toward the long corridor, trying to isolate myself in my bedroom.

A shadow crossed the hall over my head and landed on his feet in front of me. I stepped back and my eyes met the vampire Lyon’s gray eyes.

He smiled first with his pointy teeth and his words came out then.

“Why are you in a hurry, Valkyrie? I would like your company for a while longer.” He looked at the walls of the hall and also at the ceiling above him at the same time he said to me, “This castle is huge!”

He closed his eyes and opened them after that.

“I feel alone here, and so I would like your company. After all, we're friends. Aren’t we?”

His icy, gray eyes demanded a response from me.

“Today, perhaps not.” I looked down at the dark skirt of my dress. “Tomorrow, maybe ...”

I straightened my posture and tried to move forward. Then the vampire Lyon moved to make way for me and almost touched his back on the wall.

“I can make another tea of dreams for you,” he insisted after a time, and his eyes stared at my back which was covered by my long dark hair.

“I do not need your teas anymore.”

He looked up and smiled with scathing criticism.

“Oh, yeah! I had forgotten that now your great love is really on Neptune.”

I kept walking forward in an attempt to leave behind Lyon and his provocations. I did not need to challenge him with words as he did to me.

  Chapter 4

"Valkyrie, come with me." Lyon stretched out his hand towards me.

I looked down at it, trying to deny his mysterious invitation. After all, where he was wanting to take me at that time of night?"

We were standing in the middle of the central corridor of my father’s castle. The dark, bright floor was a contrast to the mystery which was surrounding the vampire Lyon.

As the days went passing by, I realized that the vampire Lyon was very strange and suspicious of me.

Maybe he already knew Eros and I were uniting our efforts to try to discover his true identity.

He took two soft steps toward me, as I felt my back kissing the wall of the corridor. At that moment I felt his face closer to mine.

Our gray eyes met more than once, and then his head moved slowly to his left as he tried to whisper something in my ear.

"What I want to show you is very fascinating!" He smiled with his sharp teeth. "I believe that you will love it."

I looked to one side, thus averting my eyes from his. My answer wasn't yet formed in my mouth, but fear surrounded me all the time.

My thoughts were reserved only for one person ...

  Eros...

Where are you? I thought and squeezed my eyes. I needed him in that castle. I knew that the vampire Lyon would keep away from me every time Eros was by my side.

A few seconds later, I looked into the vampire Lyon 's face when I felt his right hand hold mine.

  "Trust me."

At this moment, I imagined I was in the presence of the one and only vampire Eros, telling me with his soft, hoarse voice,

  "TRUST ME."

The tail of my long, dark dress slid down the hallway floor while my hand was under Lyon's hand and we walked side by side to the end of the corridor.

"Do you want to show me another secret place?" I asked him.

After flashing me a beautiful smile he said, "No, but I want to take you to another fascinating environment."

Ahead, we saw a wall and it was divided into two parts. An opening had formed before our eyes and anothe
r world was visible too.

I looked around me. I was a little apprehensive, not sure what this really was. I felt that I already knew that place. I was already familiar with that abandoned, deserted area.

"This is the town of the pre-vampires!" I muttered and I slid my hand out of Lyon's hand. He turned and looked into my face. He did not seem so surprised by my reaction.

"What are we doing here? We have already fed ourselves!" I insisted as I was looking at Lyon's pale face.

"Take it easy, Valkyrie! We are here for our amusement."

His gaze went down to the height of my waist and again he looked up into my gray eyes.

"Your father's castle is too monotonous! Don’t you think so?"

  He smiled meekly.

We stopped walking in front of a dark door with two divisions. Lyon shook his ong, dark l cape to one side and then he looked into my face. A dark energy had surrounded me and in a few seconds a black mask emerged on my face, covering it partially. I gasped, surprised at his magic.

"You are safe with this mask on your face," Lyon explained to me.

The door opened by itself and at that moment I could see a crowd of pre-vampires. Most of them were dancing in a huge hall. Around them were several torches with fire.

I walked down the hall by Lyon’s side. The pre-vampires looked at us curiously. Many of them stared at me first, but they did not know I was the daughter of Vincent, the King of the Vampires.

I confess that I was unsure about being in that place with hundreds of creatures whose only desire was to drink my blood.

The pre-vampires wanted immortality and they could only get it through my royal blood.

I pressed my shoulders together when a chill ran down my spine as soon as I saw a huge, high stage. On it was a rock and roll band. That band was made up of five pre-vampires. The tune they sang seemed foreboding, however, the crowd of pre-vampires was enjoying it.

I looked all around and then looked back at Lyon. He smiled at me and after that he looked back to the top of the stage on which the rock and roll band was performing.

The song had finished and then the musicians left the stage. Now the stage was empty.

Lyon slightly moved his right hand to one side, keeping it at the height of his right thigh. A dark, gentle wind emerged from his hand and ran it lightly through the crowd of pre-vampires. This same dark, soft wind blew into the ears of each of the pre-vampires, informing them I was there.

" THE VAMPIRE PRINCESS IS HERE!"

Someone shouted to everyone in the hall.

The crowd of pre-vampires looked in my direction. They looked euphoric to see me. I felt my breathing become heavier. They began walking towards me.

They looked desperate. They pushed each other, trying to get to me first. I looked back and saw dozens of them. Then I looked around and saw even more of them. When I looked forward, to the top of the stage, I noticed it was empty.

I went up and took a super jump into the air and landed standing on the dark stage. I looked down and saw a ring of pre-vampires forming around the stage.

For the second time I saw that crowd of terrible creatures yearning for all my vampire blood.

I looked down at the crowd but I couldn't see Lyon. I did not know where he was at that moment. He had disappeared among those abominable creatures.

Again despair took over me. I did not know what to do at that moment. And how I could leave that place without myself being massacred by the undead?

I closed my eyes and thought of my father. He was still in his deep sleep and he probably would not wake up in time to get me out of there.

However, I kept my eyes closed as I could feel the terrifying approach of the pre-vampires around the stage.

Then I opened my eyes again and looked around when I felt a dark figure standing on the stage to my right. But a few seconds later I felt another dark figure falling bent over the stage, to my left.

I looked both ways and saw two identical creatures. Their clothes were the same ie, dark trousers, dark shirts, black boots and black long capes.

Now I was in the middle of the stage with two vampires standing at each end. They looked at me, looking at my confused expression as my eyes moved between two identical vampires. Even their clothes were similar to each other.

But I knew that one of them was vampire Eros and the other was vampire Lyon.

Then I looked at them and could not identify which of them was vampire Eros. The vampire to the extreme left of me stretched out his hand for me to go in his direction.

I just stood in my place. I didn’t know which way to go.

"Come with me, Valkyrie! I'll get you out of here!"

  He insisted.

Then I looked at the vampire standing to the extreme right. At that immediate moment he said something too.

"Valkyrie! Come with me! I am the vampire Eros!"

The vampire standing to the extreme left of me shouted impatiently at me.

"He's lying! I am the true vampire Eros!"

I looked ahead. How greatly stunned I was to see the scene before me. There were two vampires claiming to be Eros. And I did not know which one was the real EROS. Which one was telling me the truth?

As I took two steps forward, I remembered my telepathy with the vampire Eros and only he would feel in advance that I was in danger and only he would care about my safety.

I stared down and saw the crowd of pre-vampires around the stage. They were hungering for my blood. It was certain that they would devour me in a matter of seconds if I fell into their hands.

I looked around and saw that the two vampires looking attentively at me. They listened to my slow steps, moving toward the edge of the stage.

At that moment, the vampire standing on my right side, had an advanced vision of what would happen to me if I fell down off that stage.

He saw the pre-vampires devouring me, biting my arms and tearing pieces of my flesh. There were hundreds of creatures. The pre-vampires drank all my blood, making me very weak and destroying me in a few seconds.

I looked again to the crowd of pre-vampires and raised my arms to my shoulders’ height, closed my eyes and threw my body forward, off the stage.

My body fell down toward the crowd of pre-vampires. In this moment, the vampire who was standing on my right seconds before, extended his right arm in my direction and shouted desperately at me,

  "Valkyrie! No!"

Then he gave a double jump into the air and flew quickly toward my body which was falling down.

His hands reached my body in a split second and he went up toward the ceiling, keeping me safe in his arms. My hands were placed around his neck as I stared at his face which was alarmed by my conduct.

"Have you gone crazy?! The pre-vampires would devour you!"

I looked into his gray eyes and confessed to him with a subtle smile, "I did that because I knew you would rescue me in time."

Eros shook his head from side to side and avoided looking into my eyes. He seemed very angry at me.

"Next time, try to get out of danger by yourself! I will not be your savior every time you are in danger! You are a powerful vampire! You do not need me at all!"

"Yeah, I need you! All the time!"

We faced each other for a while, and then we forgot that we were above the crowd of pre-vampires and also under the destructive gaze of vampire Lyon.

"It may sound crazy," I approached my face to his. "But I need you in my life as I need to feed myself with fresh blood every day."

I could almost feel his lips on mine, but at that moment I opened my eyes and looked around. I was lying on my hard bed in my bedroom.

This had been only a dream in the hours of darkness.

  But it seemed so real.

So I got up and walked to the open window of my room. I looked toward the woods imagining that Eros was there.

He was alone and unprotected, as I was in my room. I sighed and looked up at the dark sky.

  How I wished he we
re in that castle next to me and I could be in his arms at that moment, enjoying his protective embrace and especially his passionate kiss on my lips, which I wished for my whole eternity.

But this was not yet possible, not while I was still an immortal ...

  Chapter 5

Eros came into my room through my open window. I did not expect him in my room at that moment. After all I was sitting on my bed ready to lie down and rest.

All of a sudden, the presence of Eros in my room made me get up in the same instant I saw his dark shadow next to the dark wall.

  "Eros!" I muttered confused.

He walked towards me and stood before me. My light long nightgown attracted his attention. But the image in my sleeping attire was not enough to hold his attention for long.

  Then his gaze met mine.

"Come with me! We need to talk somewhere away from this castle."

His arm crossed the back of my legs and within seconds I was in his arms. I put my arms around his neck without saying a word. I trusted him. I always trusted him and now more than ever. I always felt safe in his arms. Even if they were taking me to the brink.

While I was looking at his face, I hardly realized that he went through the open window of my room, carrying me in his arms.

I could feel the hard ground under my feet again after Eros had placed me standing before him. Now we were in the forest of dried trees. The place that he was making his home for a certain time. The place where he slept with his head down and his body hanging from a tree top with his hands crossed on his chest almost every night.

Some bats were flying around the trees and a gentle wind carressed our skin.

Eros looked at me for a few seconds. I could understand that his expression was worried about something far away.

"Valkyrie, I found out everything about the vampire Lyon."

He furrowed his brow and kept saying to me, "I believe that you will not like to hear everything I have to tell you about your new vampire friend."
