The gigantic black wolf sees the young woman tied up to the trunk through his yellow eyes. Then he gazes at the full moon and roars loudly at it and makes a long leap in the direction of the sightless witch.
Chapter 25
Early in the morning, Zidane is asleep in the middle of the forest. He is lying down with his belly on the ground which is very full of dry leaves.
He is badly wounded; there are burns over his whole body and also stab wounds on his face.
The young boy awakens and looks at the forest round him. The trees look bigger than they normally look and it seems Zidane is looking for something or someone, even though he is feeling a little giddy and powerless.
***
Murad sees the boy is quite wounded as he passes over the cavern door. For this reason he looks quite serious.
“Thank God very much! You’re alive!” The old man exclaims relieved.
“Where is the blind girl? Didn’t you get to save her?”
His expression gives margin to martyrdom.
Zidane doesn’t answer him, and at this moment someone walks slowly into the cavern, a woman with her long black hair, in a long black dress, comes after Zidane’s steps.
“You got to save her!”
Murad shouts as he looks at the witch that is moving her hands on the cavern walls. Then he runs in the direction of Zidane and hugs him, shaking the boy’s body.
“You got to save her!” the old man exclaims and breaks into a fit of laughter.
“Calm down!” Zidane tells him, “I’m badly wounded.”
“Now you have someone to take care of your wounds.”
The gray haired man jokes as he looks at the blind witch.
Chapter 26
Even though Amarilis is blind, she perfectly takes care of the wounds on Zidane’s body.
While he lies down on his bed, completely nude, she makes use of a cloth that is wet with some herbs to cicatrize the terrible burns on the young boy’s body.
He holds her hand and makes her stop washing his wounds. She stops what she is doing.
Zidane gazes at her, sits down at her side and he says to her as he is squeezing up the delicate fingers of the young woman, “The black wolf’s curse served some good in my life.”
He touches her face lightly and continues saying to her, “IT SAVED YOUR LIFE.”
Chapter 27
Some weeks later...
Zidane intensely embraces Amarilis’s body while they are standing at the top of a mountain. She is with her back to him and both of them are gazing at the orange skyline.
A wind comes in their direction and Amarilis’s long hair flies back.
Amarilis feels happy standing in the wind with her love and Zidane’s strong arms around her body make her feel like the happiest woman in the universe.
She no longer fears death, not even uncertainty, not even, the black wolf’s curse.
Zidane gazes in other directions and says into his lover’s ear, “You complete part of my happiness.”
She smiles at herself and lowers her face, while he continues saying.
“The other part of my happiness I’ll just have it when I actually meet – my father – my mother − and my six brothers.”

Synopsis
Nineteenth century
Some members of high society will receive the newcomer, Lord Geremias Otero.
Frida Mascasso, a beautiful young woman finally meets him.
From that moment, she begins to have strange dreams of an ancestral vampire and four numbers.
However, a guardian vampire tries to protect her from the tenebrous ancestral vampire.
Chapter 1
August 15, 1893
The temperature that night is completely cold, after all it is still winter.
Mascasso family arrives at Toscanos house in its luxurious carriage for a dinner in honor of Mr. Otero, a newcomer to town.
My father, Mr. Josias Mascasso is led into a hall side by side the host, Mr. Toscano.
While my mother and I have joined both of us to band of ladies of high society.
In fact, I feel bored before these ladies that know only to talk about clothes, spouses and manners.
"Lady Mascasso." A lady says. "Your daughter is a beautiful girl! I believe there are several pretenders desiring her as lawful wife!"
I smile not openly at Mrs. Toscano; I do not think it is interesting that they talk about me or my future pretenders at that time.
"Oh, yes, my daughter inherited Mascasso family genetics." My mother says, admiring me with a smile like every good mother, wishing her only daughter marries a nobleman as soon as possible.
I look to the side and see my friend Rose in her luxury blue dress, as she is coming towards me and her golden hair shining under the effect of light coming from a various arms chandelier suspended from the ceiling.
Her smile comes first than her voice, telling me.
"Frida! What a good you came, my friend!"
"Oh, Rose, it's good to see you here!" I smile back and stare at her hazel eyes. "Let's get out of here!"
I pull her by the arm and we walked to the other side of the room, leaving the ladies in their annoying conversations.
I do not know why, but talking about spouses always teases me, maybe I'm not fully prepared to be worthy of a husband.
Rose and I walked to Tuscano’s garden , where its gentle breeze presents us with caresses on our faces.
I close my eyes and sigh with relief.
How good, I think, for being here, away from everyone and next to my best friend. Rose is the only person who understands me; our conversation is always compatible with our neurons.
Maybe it is because we are on the same age, both in their twenty-one years old.
"Frida, my parents want to arrange a marriage for me this year. But I do not want to get married without my won consent."
She looks
down at the ground and then looks at my face.
"That is very bad, I know what you feel. I also do not want to marry by intent."
"But our families do not think like us."
She holds my hands and shakes them while she tries to tell me.
"We cannot go against their wills."
"But they can go in favor of our wills."
I say with hope and perseverance.
"What do you mean by that?" her forehead wrinkles before my eyes.
"Maybe we were lucky enough to choose our own consorts."
"Do you think this is even possible?"
"And why would that not be, Rose?"
She looks at the garden and shakes her head at it.
"We do not even fall in love yet."
"I believe that day will come for us." I smile at her. "And we'll love our spouses until our death!"
She smiles too. "What you told is beautiful!"
"I think I read that in a book."
We give some giggling together while the green leaves of some trees are dancing on the effect of the soft wind on them.
Rose and I remain as united as these leaves glued to their respective branches. Rose and I are the only heirs of our families; we had no privilege to have had brothers.
As our families have known each other so long, we became inseparable friends.
When we finally returned to the ballroom, we can witness the guests outraged before a bad news acclaimed by the party host.
"Lord Otero had a minor setback in his carriage, and he won't arrive in time, so I'm sorry to inform you, gentlemen and ladies, we will not have the pleasure to meet him tonight."
I look at Rose's face and she shakes her formidable shoulders.
"It is a shame that we will not know Lord Otero tonight." She comments.
"May be he is a nasty old man." I mumble going against the table filled with food and drinks.
"My parents told me that Lord Otero is in his thirty one years and is single." She holds some sour grapes. "That is, he is only ten years older than both of us."
I hold a glass of champagne and drink after I ask her. "Uh, and what it represents?"
"Maybe he can be one of the candidates to win my or your heart."
The champagne makes a lump into my throat and I expel it through my mouth after a cough compulsive crisis.
"Are you kidding?"
I mumble then, trying to disguise my lack of education before the guests, while my hand supports my lips.
"Frida, you're blushing!" She says looking at my rosy face.
"All my blood just went up to my head after I have had a strong attack of coughing."
I explain her and walk on.
"Have you even suffocated with champagne or by the fact that Lord Otero can truly win your heart?"
Rose pronounces behind me and her voice sounds satirical.
"One champagne has more impact on me than a lord in his thirty-one old age, whose face is a mystery to us all." I look at her, over my shoulders. "Does that answer your question?"
"Well ..." she shrugs her shoulders at nothing. "I think so."
Then she put the last sour grape into her mouth with pink lipstick and shuts up while we walked through the ballroom.
Chapter 2
04: 23 pm
"Why those flowers?"
I ask to my mother as she guides two servants, in their black uniforms, to put the flowers into their respective vases in the main room of Mascasso mansion.
"Did your father not inform you about dinner tonight?"
My mother says looking at the flowers.
I wrinkle my forehead and look at the living room, completely covered by flowers.
"I did not see Dad today."
"Your father is inviting high society for dinner tonight, where Lord Otero will be presented to us."
"Lord Otero?"
I question looking around, Otero surname sounds weird to my ears.
"Yes, dear. Everyone wants to know this nobleman who owns a big fortune."
My mother confesses and approaches her maids.
"Frida, I want to see you like flawless tonight!"
Her eyes shine in my direction, as if I was bait for a fabulous treasure.
"I have heard that Lord Otero is a nobleman very coveted by women wherever he goes."
I shrug my shoulders and look at my salmon dress. "Do not tell me that!"
"Frida, I do not enjoy when your voice sounds that way."
My mother mutters seriously looking at me; I stare at her with tenderness.
"What way, Mom?"
"As if I was saying a lot of nonsense."
"Sorry, Mom, I just think that Lord Otero should not be like this man everyone say." I walk to the open window and look out to the garden through it; my face becomes orange with the sunlight effect. "If he really was an extraordinary man, he would not be a bachelor at his thirty-one years."
My mother shakes her head disagreeing at my concept about the newcomer.
"Frida do not talk nonsense." Her fingers touch a petal of white rose. "Lord Otero is a tremendous seducer, that's what they all say."
I stare at my mom. “Well, then in that case, I better stay away from him."
"Lord Otero is a seductive and not a despicable man."
She tries to persuade me with words that describe Mr. Otero as a handsome man as and not as a libidinous individual.
"Seductive men are in the habit of being a problem into women's lives, well, that's what I learned from the more experienced ladies. We must never be carried away by the seductive men, they are able to make us burn in hell."
My mother approaches me and whispers in my ear.
"When a woman can take them to the altar, they become angels, dear."
She turns away from me and makes her way to the other room in the house; I look at the garden through the open window, while my thoughts at all costs try to draw the face of the unknown
08:00 pm
Mascasso’s fabulous mansion receives every five minutes, the most important members of high society.
Most of them are accompanied by their wives and children.
My mother is tasked to escort the ladies and my father, gentlemen.
The main room is full of people; some of them are enjoying champagne and imported whiskey.
I'm still in my room, putting a pearl necklace that belonged to my great grandmother.
Rose is in my company, but she looks unquiet.
“Frida, come on friend! That way we will not see the arrival of Lord Otero!” She redesigns her eyebrow through her middle in front of the round mirror on my dressing table.
“I put my best dress for tonight!”
She mutters looking into the mirror.
“I put my most horrible dress.”
I mutter, looking at myself, feeling like an insignificant woman.
08:04 pm
People in the main room look toward the front door at the time a nobleman walks through it, slowly coming in the direction of them. But his footsteps reflect strongly on the ballroom floor.
His fine clothes are dark, while he is in a black coat, black pants, a white neckband shirt, black tie and a black top-hat on his head.
His hair is long and dark.
Women become their lips open before an uneven beauty, there is no man compared to her beauty inhumane, but similar to the beauty of a Greek god.
“Lord Otero, welcome!”
My father exclaims, walking in his direction.
While everyone there admire him at his front and also his back.
However, unmarried girls get excited before a beautiful, rich and celibate suitor.
“Thank you sir Mascasso!” he removes his top hat from his head, pulls it against his chest and greets my father with a firm handshake.
“This is lady Mascasso!” My father introduces my mother to him.
“Nice to meet you, madam Mascasso!” He gently holds my mother’s hand and kisses it with all due respect.
r /> Mr. Otero is finally introduced to everyone there in the hall, tearing admirable sighs of several ladies, as he puts on show his white smile to them, however, it is not only his smile that enchants them.
He is an attractive man even with his mouth closed.
My father puts his hand on the Lord Otero’s shoulder and leads to the fireside.
“Would you like some champagne, Lord Otero?” My father questions him.
“Oh, yes, of course!” He answers, looking at people in the hall, but the images of beautiful ladies become his attention attached to them briefly.
My father walks away and seconds later, he returns bringing a glass of champagne in his hand and hands it over the newcomer’s hand.
Lord Otero thanks him and tastes the high quality champagne.
Raising his head and looking up the fireplace, Lord Otero has just faced with a splendid picture, which attracts his attention to it for a few minutes.
“It is a beautiful picture!” He praises, looking at the picture hung on the wall. “What a beautiful face!”
